Boone Memorial Health is proud to recognize Lilly Elkins, Clinical Admin (Receptionist), as the recipient of the 2026 McClogan-Dickenson Award Scholarship.
The McClogan-Dickenson Award is presented annually by the Boone Memorial Health Auxiliary Scholarship Committee to a Boone Memorial Health employee who is continuing their education in a medical field of study. While the scholarship is traditionally awarded in the amount of $500, this year’s recipient was awarded $1,000 in recognition of her dedication and commitment to advancing her education and future career.
Lilly is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Psychology through Western Governors University, with an anticipated graduation in 2027. In her role as a Clinical Admin at Boone Memorial Health, she serves as one of the first points of contact for patients, helping ensure a positive experience while supporting the daily operations of the healthcare team.
Following graduation, Lilly plans to become a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), with a focus on supporting adolescents through some of the most challenging years of their lives.
“Mental health has always been important to me because of my own personal struggles and experiences,” Lilly shared. “Those experiences have given me a deep understanding of how important support, compassion, and awareness can be for individuals facing mental health challenges. I want to help others understand that mental health is just as important as physical health and be a source of encouragement for those who may be walking a path similar to my own.”
She hopes to help children and teenagers better understand their emotions, develop healthy coping skills, and recognize that they are never alone in their struggles.
Receiving the scholarship represents much more than financial assistance for Lilly and her family.
“This scholarship means so much to my family and I,” she said. “Every bit of support helps me move closer to achieving my dream of earning my degree and building a career where I can make a positive impact on others’ lives. It is not only an investment in my future, but also in the future of my children and the opportunities I hope to create for them through education, hard work, and perseverance.”
Boone Memorial Health congratulates Lilly on this well-deserved recognition and applauds her dedication to continuing her education while serving patients and pursuing a career devoted to mental health advocacy and support. We are proud to support employees who are committed to making a lasting difference in the lives of others and in the communities we serve.
