Boone Memorial Health has earned a five-star rating for quietness and was included in Becker’s Hospital Review’s list of the nation’s quietest hospitals, marking a meaningful achievement in BMH’s ongoing efforts to create a more restful environment for patients.

The recognition is based on Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) patient survey data measuring how quiet patients reported their hospital rooms were at night. BMH was among 337 hospitals nationwide, and seven in West Virginia, included in Becker’s October 7, 2026, report.

The ratings reflect responses to the Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS), a national, standardized survey that asks patients about their experiences during a recent inpatient hospital stay.

For BMH, achieving this rating represents a goal the team has worked hard to reach. Creating a quieter hospital environment has been an important focus of the organization’s ongoing work to improve the patient experience and make patients feel comfortable and cared for throughout their stay.

“A quiet, restful environment is an important part of the experience we want every patient to have at Boone Memorial Health,” said Stephanie McDougal, Chief Nursing Officer. “Our team has worked hard toward this goal, and earning a five-star rating based on our patients’ feedback makes this recognition especially meaningful. I am proud of our staff for their dedication to creating an environment where patients can rest and feel supported.”

The achievement reflects a shared commitment across BMH to consider every part of the patient’s experience. Alongside attentive, compassionate care, the hospital environment remains an important priority for employees and leadership.

Patient feedback provides BMH with valuable insight into what is working well and where additional improvements can be made. This recognition offers an opportunity to celebrate the team’s progress while continuing to build on those efforts.

Boone Memorial Health thanks its employees for their dedication and its patients for sharing feedback that helps guide continued improvements in care and service.
