James A. “Tony” Hensley

Chairman

Appointed to the Boone Memorial Hospital Board of Directors in 2002. Tony has a Bachelor’s Degree from Concord College and a Master’s Degree from Duke University. He is the President of his family-owned business, Barker’s Hardware Inc., and is the President of Cameron Hardwood Management. Tony has also served on the Danville Town Council since 1985.

Robert L. “Bob” Brown

Vice Chairman

Appointed to the Boone Memorial Hospital Board of Directors in 1988 Bob is retired from Peabody Coal Company. He is a past elected official of the Board of Education and the Board of the Hygeia Foundation. Although retired, Bob remains in the administrative capacity for Camp Light Foot, a mining-owned and operated retreat for year-round camping and training events in Summers County along the Greenbrier River.

James A. “Jim” Gore

Secretary

Appointed to the Boone Memorial Hospital Board of Directors in 2011. Jim graduated from Scott High School in 1972 and obtained his Bachelor’s Degree from Marshall University in 1976. Jim worked for 22 years as a Business Manager in the Human Resources Department for Long Branch Energy and J.V. Services. For the past 8 years he has worked as the County Administrator for the Boone County Commission. He is involved in the Madison Little League, the United Way, and the Corridor-G Authority.

Thomas “Tom” Bias

Member

Appointed to the Boone Memorial Hospital Board of Directors in 2011. Tom is a retired preacher, a former member of the WV Legislature, and a retired school teacher. Tom attended Marshall University where he received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education in 1972 and a Master of Arts Degree in School Administration in 1980. In addition, he received a Master of Divinity Degree from Asbury Theological Seminary in 1990. Tom is a member of the Boone Lodge IOOF No. 170 and a former member of the Boone County Board of Health.

Susan McCoy

Member

Appointed to the Boone Memorial Hospital Board of Directors in March 2017.  Susan received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from West Virginia University School of Dentistry in 1994. She completed an Advance Education in General Dentistry residency (certificate) in 1995. She has practiced dentistry in southern West Virginia since 1998, as a member of the National Health Service Corp. In 2000, she and her late husband Dr. Jeffrey McCoy opened McCoy Dental in Logan. Dr. McCoy is on the rural faculty at West Virginia University School of Dentistry. She is the owner of Danville Floral & Gifts in Danville, SS Detail Shop in Madison and Dippin’ Dots in the Charleston Town Center Mall and Huntington Mall. She resides in Madison with her three children Courtney, Jeffrey and Hunter.

Shawn Miller

Appointed to the Boone Memorial Hospital Board of Directors in 2015. Shawn is a licensed Pharmacist and is employed at Larry’s Pharmacy in Madison. He received his B.S. from West Virginia University School of Pharmacy in 2000. Shawn is community-minded and has served Boone County as a pharmacist for 14 years. He is a 1992 graduate of Scott High School and is actively involved with the Madison Little League. Shawn resides in Madison with his wife Holly and their three sons Alexander, Hayden, and Griffin.

John S. Reger II

Member

Appointed to the Boone Memorial Hospital Board of Directors in 2017. John is the owner of Capital Venture Consultants, Inc. a consulting firm specializing in project development, project finance, and the mergers & acquisition of privately held companies. John was the project development consultant in the financing and development of the new Boone Memorial Hospital. He has been active in hospital and other healthcare project finance and development for over 30 years. He lives in Cross Lanes with his wife Nannette.

Wyatt Scaggs

Appointed to Boone Memorial Hospital of Directors April 2022. Wyatt has a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Marshall University. Wyatt is President of his family-owned business: Baisden Brothers Inc., Baisden Vaughan Inc., Bucane Inc., and Southern Equipment Inc. He is a former member of the Marshall University Board of Governors where he served as Chairman of the Board from 2016-2018. He resides in Logan County with his wife Kristi. They have two children; Neal and Katie.

Edward L. “Eddie” Williams

Member

Appointed to the Boone Memorial Health Board of Directors in October 2023. Eddie is a senior global life sciences executive who has served as Special Advisor to the Chief Executive Officer and previously, interim U.S. Chief Commercial Officer of Ascendis Pharma, Inc., Senior Vice President of Novo Nordisk Inc., and Vice President of Sales in the Respiratory and Dermatology Business Unit at Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corp. after more than 20 years at Pharmacia & Upjohn Company. He currently serves on the board of directors for BiomX Inc. and BioAlta Inc., in addition to the Advisory Board to the President and CEO of Basic Supply Company, Inc. In 2024, Eddie joined the Board of Directors of Innovative Hematology, Inc. – a private, non-profit organization based in Indianapolis, Indiana, focused on hospital and healthcare research and treatment.
