BMH Foundation for Community Health

The BMH Foundation for Community Health has a mission to improve community health by addressing the social determinants of health throughout the communities it serves.

Boone Memorial’s original leaders had a philosophy of “people helping people” and being a vital part of the community.  In 2022, Boone Memorial Health’s leaders and Board of Directors further implemented that vision with the launch of the BMH Foundation for Community Health for the purpose of addressing social determinants of health, which include:

  • Economic stability
  • Access to quality education
  • Safe neighborhoods and living environments
  • Social and community connection
  • Access to quality healthcare

The BMH Foundation for Community Health plans to accomplish its goals through programming and education, managed projects and operations, grantmaking to other non-profits and governmental entities, and community events and partnerships.

Building a Better Tomorrow… Today!

While the Boone Memorial team has long been dedicated to clinical advancement and community service, its original hospital reached the end of its viability as a 21st century healthcare facility.

Hospital and county leaders, feeling strongly that Boone County citizens and neighboring counties deserved a fresh new hospital, moved forward with plans
to construct a new, modern hospital, which opened its doors on June 25, 2016.

The USDA provided the majority of funding through a $37 million loan.

The new facility – designed with direction and feedback from BMH employees and physicians – is a welcoming, patient-centric hospital ensuring departments and services have adequate space and technology to grow well into the future.

The new BMH has 25 modern family-friendly rooms, all private and one level, IV therapy, Black Lung Center, Pharmacy, the latest in radiology and laboratory technology, two new surgery suites, plus six additional emergency treatment rooms, and three new triage rooms.

And while the USDA loan is certainly a strong start to funding the new Boone Memorial, it will not cover the entire cost of the ongoing diagnostic, treatment, and administrative technologies that are a key part of modern healthcare delivery.

The people of Boone County and the surrounding areas have the rare opportunity to show their thanks by ensuring the new Boone Memorial Hospital can continue to serve its community well into the future.

We appreciate your support. No donation is too small. Thank you for your consideration.
