April is recognized nationwide as Donate Life Month, a time dedicated to raising awareness about the life-saving impact of organ, eye, and tissue donation. Boone Memorial Health is proud to join organizations across the country in honoring donors, celebrating recipients, and encouraging our community to learn more about the importance of donation.
Throughout the month, BMH is recognizing the incredible generosity of individuals and families who have given the gift of life. Organ donation has the power to save and enhance lives, offering hope to thousands of people currently waiting for a transplant.
As part of this observance, BMH is working to increase awareness and provide educational opportunities for patients, staff, and the community. From sharing inspiring stories to promoting donor registration, our goal is to encourage meaningful conversations and help individuals make informed decisions about becoming a donor.
“Donate Life Month is a time to reflect on the profound impact one decision can make,” said Boone Memorial Health Chief Nursing Officer, Stephanie McDougal. “By registering as a donor, you have the opportunity to save lives and leave a lasting legacy.”
BMH encourages everyone to take a moment this April to learn more about organ donation and consider registering as a donor. One person can save up to eight lives through organ donation and enhance many more through tissue donation.
Together, we can make a difference, one decision at a time.
