Boone Memorial Health (BMH), in partnership with the Boone County Community Foundation (BCCF), will host a free Lunch & Learn in recognition of Stress Awareness Month, held annually during the month of April. The Lunch & Learn is one of several being offered by the hospital.

According to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), stress can suppress your immune system, upset your digestive and reproductive systems, increase the risk of heart attack and stroke, and speed up the aging process. It can even rewire the brain, leaving you more vulnerable to anxiety, depression, and other mental health problems. Lunch & Learn presenter, BMH Psychiatrist, Melissa Moody, MD, will teach participants tips and techniques to help manage stress.

The Lunch & Learn will be held at the BMH Foundation Building, located at 697 Smoot Avenue in Danville (Beside United Bank) on Friday, April 28 from 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. RSVP is required, as space is limited. Contact Ladie Viars: – 304-369-1230 Ext. 4502 or Karlie Belle Price: – 304-369-1230 Ext. 5506.
