Boone Memorial Health’s Brighter Futures continues to provide the West Virginia DUI Safety and Treatment Program, offering eligible individuals an opportunity to complete required education and treatment while developing skills that can support safer, healthier choices.
As an authorized program provider, Brighter Futures helps individuals complete West Virginia Division of Motor Vehicles requirements following a DUI conviction. Successful completion may allow participants to have their driver’s licenses reinstated, pending approval from the WV DMV.
“This program is about more than completing a requirement, it is an opportunity for individuals to learn, grow and take meaningful steps toward a more positive future,” said Gina Peck, Director of Brighter Futures. “Our team is committed to creating a supportive environment where participants are treated with respect and encouraged throughout the process.”
The program promotes public safety while helping participants better understand the effects of impaired driving and address substance use that may have contributed to their circumstances. All services are provided by licensed, credentialed professionals.
“Everyone who enters the program has a different story, and we meet each participant where they are,” said Crystal Collins, Professional Counselor and BMH GROWS Coordinator at Brighter Futures. “Through education, honest conversation and practical tools, we hope to help participants build confidence in their ability to make lasting changes.”
Programs are completed in six-week sessions, with classes held each Tuesday at Brighter Futures, located at 467 Main Street in Madison. Therapy for Levels II and III is held from 1 to 2 p.m., followed by Safety Education from 2 to 5 p.m. In-person, hybrid and virtual options may be available when clinically appropriate.
The next session begins September 8, 2026. Additional sessions will begin October 27 and December 15.
Participants must complete an initial screening and assessment to determine the appropriate program level.
