Boone Memorial Health (BMH) is proud to announce its inclusion in  Becker’s list of the top 350 cleanest hospitals in the United States. BMH is one of only six hospitals in West Virginia to make the list and the sole hospital in southern West Virginia to receive this recognition.

The Becker’s ranking is based on hospitals that achieved a five-star cleanliness rating from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) patient survey, released on July 31, 2024.

The HCAHPS survey is a national benchmark measuring patients’ experiences in hospitals. It assesses key elements such as communication with doctors and nurses, staff responsiveness, cleanliness, and pain management.

“Cleanliness is foundational to patient safety, comfort, and experience,” said BMH Chief Operating Officer, Angie Christian. “Our patients deserve an environment that promotes healing and well-being, and we take pride in maintaining the highest standards.”

Kohle Maynard, Executive Director of General Services at BMH, added, “This recognition is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our environmental services team. They are on the front lines 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, ensuring that our hospital remains a safe and welcoming place for patients, families, and staff.”

In addition to this achievement,  Boone Memorial Health’s hospital just achieved its fifth consecutive overall five-star HCAHPS rating in the patient survey category.
