Grace Anne Dorney Pulmonary
Let us improve your quality of life.
Our Pulmonary Rehabilitation Center is named in honor of Grace Anne Dorney Koppel, the wife of former ABC news “Nightline” anchor, Ted Koppel and is located on-site at BMH.
We are honored to be one of five rural health organizations in the State of West Virginia to receive financial support from the Dorney Koppel Family Charitable Foundation to open our rehabilitation program, which helps patients suffering from Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) and other breathing problems.
At the Grace Anne Dorney Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program our rehab team will create a plan that's tailored to your abilities and individual needs.
Pulmonary Rehabilitation, also called pulmonary rehab or PR, is a broad program
that helps improve the well-being of people who have chronic (ongoing) breathing problems.
For example, Pulmonary Rehabilitation may benefit people who have COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease), sarcoidosis, idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, or cystic fibrosis. Pulmonary Rehabilitation can also benefit people who need lung surgery, both before and after the surgery. In additional to Pulmonary Rehabilitation we also offer PFT's (Pulmonary Functioning Testing) and In-home sleep studies.

At the Grace Anne Dorney Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program our rehab team will create a plan that's tailored to your abilities and needs. You'll likely attend your Pulmonary Rehabilitation program weekly. Your team also will expect you to follow your plan, including exercises and lifestyle changes, at home.
Pulmonary Rehabilitation has many benefits. It can improve your ability to function and your quality of life. The program also may help relieve your breathing problems. Even if you have advanced lung disease, you can still benefit from Pulmonary Rehabilitation.
Pulmonary Rehabilitation at Boone Memorial is offered for patients under the guidance of our trained, licensed Respiratory Therapists. The program is an outpatient program that includes individual treatment plans, exercise sessions, teaching sessions and breathing and relaxation techniques.
