Boone Memorial Health held its Third Annual Community Drive-Through Thanksgiving Dinner on Monday, November 20, at Scott High School in Madison from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.

Hot, ready-to-eat meals were prepared by the BMH Dietary Department. Each meal included turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, corn, rolls, cranberry sauce, and cake.

In 2021, the first year of the event, BMH served over 1,700 meals with approximately 2,500 served in 2022. This year, with help from over 100 employees, community members, and student volunteers, BMH served over 3,600 meals.

“This has quickly become an annual tradition in our community,” said BMH Chief Executive Officer Virgil Underwood. “It is truly amazing to see not only growth in the number of meals prepared and distributed but also in the number of volunteers. This event is a testament to the character of our community – a community coming together and rolling up its sleeves to make sure thousands of people receive a warm meal during the holidays.”
