In addition to the Diabetes classes offered here, Boone Memorial Hospital developed a new Healthy Lifestyle Program, which has been researched and certified by the CDC (Centers for Disease Control).
Participants are expected to attend weekly meetings, which are offered several times throughout the day, including morning, afternoon and evening. Classes last approximately one hour and include education and resources regarding nutrition, stress reduction, healthy living and diabetes prevention.
Weigh-ins are held weekly, which are optional and private.
