Boone Memorial Hospital to hold Annual Winter Blood Drive
Boone Memorial Hospital will hold its annual Winter Blood drive on Friday, January 4th, 2019. The drive will be one of three hosted annually by the hospital. Other dates include May 17th and August 23rd.
“The demand is always high and it’s up to us to meet that demand,” said Boone Memorial Hospital CEO Virgil Underwood.
“Summer time and January are considered tough recruiting months for the American Red Cross,” explained Karlie Price, Marketing and Public Relation Director
Boone Memorial Hospital Receives National Recognition for Performance Leadership in Patient Perspectives
Today, on National Rural Health Day, Boone Memorial Hospital announced it has been recognized by The Chartis Center for Rural Health and the National Organization of State Offices of Rural Health (NOSORH) for overall excellence in Patient Perspectives, reflecting top quartile performance among all rural hospitals in the nation. Boone Memorial Hospital is among only 14 West Virginia rural providers recognized for overall excellence in 2018.

Boone Memorial Hospital has a new and improved patient portal system, Thrive.
The Thrive Patient Portal is an easy, safe and secure way for patients to obtain their healthcare information. '
Patients have 24/7 access to their health information. They can view lab results, x-rays, CT scans, MRI's and US Reports. In addition, patients can use the patient portal to pay their bills online.
2018 winner of the Over the Top Hospital (under 100 beds)
On Wednesday, September 26 at the WVHA (West Virginia Hospital Association) Annual Meeting, Boone Memorial Hospital was the recipient of the Over the Top Hospital (under 100 beds) award. This award goes to the hospital with under 100 beds that exceeded its goal by the largest percentage. Boone Memorial Hospital exceeded its goal by 233%.

New Mammo Boutique
Boone Memorial is getting its pink on. The hospital has a new mammo boutique. The new boutique features pink robes, pink coffee maker, pink decor...pink everything. The hospital offers 1/2 price mammograms every October and now allows self-referrals.
No order? No problem. Patients can now walk-in to receive a mammogram without an order from their doctor.
Goody bags are given to all patients throughout the entire year (while supplies last).
