On September 29th, the Boone Memorial Hospital Brighter Futures Program (Substance & Mental Health Treatment Program) held a balloon presentation in recognition of National Recovery Month.

Recovery Month is a national observance held every September to promote and support new evidence-based treatment and recovery practices, the emergence of a strong and proud recovery community, and the dedication of service providers and community members across the nation who make recovery in all its forms possible. “Brighter Futures staff, along with some of our patients, displayed 100 purple balloons (donated by Gracie & Tate Merchandise), along Main Street Madison; in memory of those lost to a substance use disorder or drug overdose,” said Brent Tomblin, Executive Director of BMH Brighter Futures. “It was a powerful presentation.”
Brighter Futures offers medication assisted treatment (MAT), clinical assessments, individual and group therapy, referral services, career placement, career readiness training, work-site monitoring, social services, prevention, spiritual care and peer recovery support. In addition, BMH Brighter Futures partners with the local Quick Response Team (QRT).

“The Brighter Futures program has seen great success,” said David Gresham, BMH Chief Development Officer. “I’m proud of their accomplishments, along with the many patients who have changed their lives, for the better. We hope the event helped to remind those struggling with a substance use disorder that we are here to help and recovery is possible.”
