In honor of American Heart Month, Boone Memorial Health launched a departmental fundraising challenge this week to benefit the American Heart Association! BMH will match all employee donations received, dollar-for-dollar, up to $5,000.

The fundraiser is held in conjunction with Hillary Gore. Hillary, a junior at Mingo Central High School, has been selected as one of eight American Heart Association Youth Heart Ambassadors in the nation and is the first West Virginian to hold the title. Hillary is a survivor, having suffered a stroke at birth, which left her partially paralyzed on one side.

As a Heart Youth Ambassador, Hillary is a voice for the AHA’s in-school initiatives and encourages children to establish healthy habits. BMH commends Hillary for her resilience and sharing her inspiring story nationwide, and we are proud to support her fundraising efforts!
