Boone Memorial Hospital would like to recognize the September 2012 Employee of the Month, Rebecca Linville Rhodes. Rebecca, who currently resides in Danville, has been on staff at BMH for 3 years. Originally from Canton, Ohio, Rhodes moved to West Virginia in 1999.

“My father Stephen Linville is a native of Morrisville, WV and after he retired we decided to move back home,” said Rebecca.

She began her career at BMH as a Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) and later became a nurse extern where she helped bathe patients, check vital signs and perform a number of other patient duties. Rebecca is now a Registered Nurse (RN) on the floor at BMH and truly enjoys her job.

“I like helping people in the community and seeing an improvement in their well-being. I enjoy providing comfort to those in need,” she said.

On a daily basis Rebecca performs a number of patient duties including assessing patient needs, passing out medications, documenting information and charge nurse responsibilities as needed.

Rebecca attended college at Southern West Virginia Community and Technical College where she obtained her degree in Nursing. She has earned respect from her colleagues and patients alike.

"Rebecca is a very dedicated, caring, compassionate nurse. She is always willing to go the extra mile for her patients. I feel she is a true asset to Boone Memorial and a joy to work with,” said friend and co-worker Whitey Hager, RN-BSN.

Ward Clerk, Janie Griffis adds "She is a wonderful person to work with - always helpful and caring."

When Rebecca isn’t busy working at BMH she enjoys playing softball, 4-wheeling and camping and attends Danville Bible Baptist church. She also loves spending time with her husband, Rexal Rhodes, Jr who proposed to Rebecca on Christmas in front of his entire family. She attributes much of her success and career support to her loving family including her parents Tracy and Stephen, grandparents Jim and Betty Fausnight and mother and father-in-law, Sylvia and Rexal Rhodes.

Rebecca is certified in ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) and PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support). She served on the Pharmacy Committee at BMH and is proficient in Superuser computer programming.

Rebecca is known for putting her patients’ needs first.

“She's very conscientious and so good with her patients. She learns very quickly as well,” said Rebecca’s boss, Terri Dolin, RN.

“She is a wonderful employee with a great bedside manner,” adds Dr. Jennifer Hensley. I love when she is the nurse caring for my patients. I know they will get excellent care.”

Rebecca was honored with a designated parking space and free lunch for the entire month of September and a recognition plaque that is displayed in the front lobby at BMH.

“It was a complete surprise when I received the award but I was very appreciative,” concluded Rebecca.

Congratulations Rebecca! We are proud of you!
